REVIEW: Missha All-Around Safe Block Waterproof Sun Milk SPF 50+ PA+++

Missha’s lineup of All-Around Safe Block sunscreens are frequently brought up as a go-to. With so many options, it’s no wonder you can find something that fits you perfectly! The Waterproof Sun Milk has a 4.7 star rating on our site so let’s see if it lives up to all the hype 🙌

Helichrysum Italicum Flower Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (Octinoxate), Zinc Oxide, Methylene Bis-benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol (Bisoctrizole), Isoamyl p-methoxycinnamate (Amiloxate), Butylene Glycol, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Dimethicone, Titanium Dioxide, Alcohol Denat., PEG-10 Dimethicone, Hexyl Laurate, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract, Psidium Guajava Leaf Extract, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Extract, Cinchona Succirubra Bark Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Abronia Villosa Leaf Extract, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Stearic Acid, Methicone, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Alumina, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Iron Oxides.

Based on the ingredients, this is a hybrid chemical/physical sunscreen. You should apply this 20-30 minutes before sun exposure. This is a broad spectrum sunscreen, giving your protection from both UVA and UVB rays. The SPF 50 is great for daily use and PA+++ is high as well.

It also claims to be sweat, water, and sebum-proof. However, you should still reapply every sun protection every 2-3 hours, especially if you’re exposed to sun between 10am and 2pm.

mainThe sunscreen is available in 50ml and 70ml. Both are flat and easy to hold. The cap is super secure and clicks shut.  The waterproof variety has a shiny blue cap.

Missha is against animal testing, so there is a disclaimer on the box stating that 🐰

The scent is definitely there on this one. It’s a fresh scent but I made the mistake of inhaling while applying on the mouth area, and got a head on whiff of alcohol. The fresh scent (not the alcohol, thankfully) does linger after application, but it isn’t invasive to me. If you are sensitive to scents, you should be cautious!

textureBecause of the watery, thin sun milk texture, it applies like a dream (be sure to shake before use!) 👍 It smoothes over the face with minimal tugging and disappears quickly. Those who wear makeup will be happy to hear it doesn’t pill under makeup 😎

The finish is a very light semi-matte. The best, best, best part of this sunscreen is just how light it is. It essentially disappears into the skin! For the first minute or so after application, you might feel the layer, but that does go away. Thanks to the eucalyptus extract, there is a bit of sebum-control in the product as well. I personally didn’t notice the sebum-control benefit, but I wasn’t expecting it to do much for my oil anyway.

appThere is just a slight white cast if you don’t massage it in fully, so be sure to really work the product in. Either way, any color left over will disappear once the product dries.

🏅 The texture, application, and soft matte finish are huge wins!

💪 Recommended for those who wear makeup and people who can’t stand the heaviness of other sunscreens.

👍 Texture is light and airy.

🚫 Avoid if you are sensitive to alcohol or smells.

🛢 Not oily on the skin but doesn’t have strong sebum-control abilities.
